Motion for Local Authorities regarding ‘blacklisting’
Notes and welcomes campaigning by trade unions to end the scandalous practice of ‘blacklisting’.
Shares the serious concerns of Unite the Union, with regard to the potential for the continuation of ‘blacklisting’ activity within the construction industry.
Notes the damning findings of the interim report of the Scottish Affairs Select Committee.
Pledges that from this date, it will not renew existing contracts and / or enter into new contracts with any contractor, or company directly related to that contractor, if we believe it has been ‘blacklisting’ workers, until such time as any and all related disputes are resolved and it is clearly proven that fair and transparent recruitment processes have been put in place.”
